The Jugged Hare - London

The Jugged Hare is a very nice pub located in the City of London, just down the street from the hotel we stayed in. We found out later that it was actually attached to the hotel through a series of hallways and stairs that connected the two the buildings. We stopped in here Friday night after our return from the craziness of the London squares; Piccadilly, Covent and Leicester, to have a pint or two. There were four bartenders working and the place was packed, but we were able to score 2 bar stools and had the pleasure of being waited on by 2 lovely women. They had the same hand pull cask system as The Palace, with some interesting different ales. They gave of samples of a few of them, but I stuck with my usual Guinness.

This pub was where I had made Saturday evening reservations, but we decided to see a play that night and I had to cancel. The menu served mainly game and all of it was served according to what was in season. It all seemed interesting and a bit scary, but we weren't able to find out.  We did eat breakfast here, both Saturday and Sunday on the hotel. Our room rate included breakfast and they had a nice traditional English breakfast buffet along with cereals, pastries, yogurt and such.

They are located at No. 49 Chiswell Street City of London EC1Y 4SA 020 7614 0134
